DURO OLOWU DRESS

This beautifully crafted silk crepe dress was created by Nigerian born designer Duro Olowu for his Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Olowu is a celebrated Nigerian-born designer based in London. Like much of his work, this dress features innovative combinations of patterns and textiles that draw upon his Nigerian heritage and his formal design training in London. For his Spring/Summer 2015 collection, Olowu drew inspriation from the cover art for The Pointer Sisters, Japanese film noir, 1940s pinups and the Senegalese island of Saint-Louis. Olowu’s classic silhouettes rendered in striking patterns and color palettes have proven popular among celebrities and politicians, like Michelle Obama who he’s dressed on a number of occasions.
