WILLI SMITH WOMEN'S ENSEMBLE

This unique and beautifully constructed four-piece women’s ensemble from the 1980’s was created by designer Willi Smith for his street wear brand, Willi Wear. This colorful ensemble, which embodies Smith’s ethos of wearable “street couture,” is made up of a striped vest, a grid patterned oversized button up, a pair of striped trousers and a full-length striped wrap skirt. All the garments are constructed from the same fine Indian cotton fabric and feature the same gold, orange, yellow and light blue patterning throughout. Smith’s focus was to design loose-fitting separates, that were comfortable and affordable to a wide audience. With a long skirt and oversized jacket, this ensemble is a perfect representation of Smith’s vision.
